You don’t have to figure it out alone
Sometimes you know something isn’t quite right, but you don’t know where to begin.
Maybe you’re struggling to focus.
Maybe anxiety or depression is making everyday life harder.
Maybe your relationship with food has become complicated.
Maybe you’re going through a life transition and don’t feel like yourself.
Or maybe you’re a parent trying to understand what your child is experiencing.
This is where we begin.
What I treat
Care for adolescents and adults, with a special focus on ADHD and eating disorders.
ADHD
ADHD can affect much more than attention. It can impact organization, motivation, time management, emotional regulation, relationships, school, and work.
Eating Disorders
When food, eating, body image, or exercise begins to take over your thoughts or interfere with your life, compassionate psychiatric care can be an important part of recovery.
Anxiety & Depression
Feeling constantly worried, overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, or unlike yourself can make everyday life feel difficult.
Mood & Life Transitions
Changes in relationships, family, career, or other seasons of life can affect your mental health in ways you didn’t expect.
Women’s Mental Health
Mental health can change throughout different stages of a woman’s life. Your symptoms deserve to be understood in the context of your whole life.
Substance Use & Recovery
Supportive, nonjudgmental psychiatric care for people navigating substance use, recovery, and related mental-health concerns.
Your symptoms may not fit neatly into one category, and that’s okay.

How I can help
Listen to your story
Before deciding what treatment looks like, I want to understand you: your history, your symptoms, your challenges, your strengths, and your goals.
Understand the bigger picture
ADHD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and other concerns can overlap. Looking at the whole picture helps us understand what support may be most appropriate.
Create a personalized plan
Your treatment should be built around you, not a checklist. Care may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, therapy or supportive care, and collaboration with your treatment team.
Support you along the way
You don’t have to navigate everything at once. We’ll take things one step at a time, with care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and without judgment.
How I want you to feel
Heard
Like someone is actually listening, not just checking boxes.
Understood
Your experiences deserve context, compassion, and thoughtful attention.
Supported
You don’t have to carry everything by yourself.
Hopeful
There may be more possibilities than you can see right now.
Empowered
With a better understanding of yourself and a clearer path forward.
You are more than a diagnosis
Hi, I’m Kirsten Book, PMHNP-BC. There is a person behind every symptom, and I believe effective psychiatric care means getting to know that person.
My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I take the time to understand your history, your goals, your challenges, and what you hope will change. There is no judgment here, and no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out.
Your story matters. Your goals matter. And you deserve care that sees the whole you.
Kirsten
